Red Zone Tier Lists
Presented by - Adel & Moji
It's a tier list kind of day.
Where does the Red Zone stack up? Moji and I decided to take a look at the league as a whole, and rank every single coach into tiers.
What did we rank based upon? We looked at each owner's body of work in their league, and how comfortable we feel dropping them into any sitaution and them contending. Basically, how does each owner stack up on the field and in the front office?
A quick look at our tiers first....
Elite Tier
Definition: Simple, short, sweet. An owner in this tier is elite. They can go to any situation and contend. They rarely have missteps in the front office, and are among the best team builders and coaches in the league every single season and cycle.
Championship Caliber
In any situation an owner in this tier goes to, odds are they are going to appear in a conference championship game, and get to the Super Bowl at least once. They are great team builders, and great coaches on the field, but will have hiccups from time to time. These owners will usually have one season in a cycle that keeps them from being in the 'Elite' tier.
Wild Cards
Self explanatory name, these owners are solid on the field and in the front office, and will occasionally go on runs that surprise the leauge. The ups are high and the downs are low, but they are always challenging their division mates for supremacy, and winning a few playoff games. An owner winning a title from this group would be considered a 'pleasant surprise'.
Jeff Fisher
What you can expect from this tier of owners is to hover around .500 for the majority of the cycle. In most cases, they are good team builders, but can't translate that to success on the field. Occasional playoff appearences, but never a deep run. Also, not bad enough to get a high draft choice.
Always Next Year
They aren't biblically bad, but are never in contention. The problem is, they do enough at points in the season to trick you into thinking they will bounce back next season, or with better personnel. The fanbases of these coaches look forward to next season around Week 8.
The Turtles Memorial Tier
Typically no matter what happens, these owners will be in the cellar of their division season by season. They have little talent on the field, and will typically mail it in during the offseason, or having a major headscratching move. Simply put, they are here for the league and don't see any signs of improvement.
