10 Questions with Primetime - R.J. Horne
Prime: Wassup RZ Nation. I'm in Miami with the #4 pick in the RZ38 Draft. A DB from Oklahoma. R.J. Horne. Wassup man?
RJ: Improving man… Trying to improve 24/7
Prime: That's wassup, man. I got 10 questions for you, my man. You ready?
RJ: Sure, lets do it
Prime: Excellent, bruh. So, we all know you went to Miami at #4. How did it feel when you got the call from Coach Snyder? I heard that guy's a real character. Haha!
RJ: Yeah he's wild, but he knows ball. I felt good. I know they want big press corners in Miami, and that what I was built to do. I was hoping that's where I would go, but thought I would go later. Really a blessing!
Prime: Knowing that Miami placed such a high premium on Defense this year, how did you feel knowing you were their #1 target and the focus for the new season?
RJ: Coach said on the phone they wanted to build the secondary around me which is flattering. I’m happy they put that high of a value on my talents. And I want to reward them for taking a chance on me.
Prime: Is there more pressure on you because of that? Do you feel the pressure is justified?
RJ: I’ve said before the draft I was the top corner. I put the pressure on myself and I strive from it.
Prime: Nice, man. Gotta challenge yourself. It's been a turnaround season in Miami. What are you doing to help turn things around?
RJ: It's not just me. The whole defense is doing this. TJ Green is Ed Reed, which makes my job easier, and with Verlon on the other side, we all just do our jobs.
Prime: Yea yall have a lot of capable DBs in Miami! Crazy. Who has been the biggest influence in your life and career? And why?
RJ: In life, its my Dad. He worked hard for us and made sure we knew we were priority #1. In football, you're probably my biggest influence. I wanna be the best corner of all time, and to do that, I have to better than you.
Prime: Aww thanks, my man. Flattery will get you everywhere. But you ain't touching PRIMETIME! Haha! ;)
So your job is to shut down WRs. Who has given you the most trouble thus far.
RJ: I’d have to say Perriman up there in Baltimore. Everyones talking about the other guy, but Perriman has speed man, and a big ole body. He was tough.
Prime: Yea he's a load. That other guy is a cheese, OOPS, I mean cheat code! Haha! What do you do on your off days in Miami? Are you a partier? A film junky? Or just unwind and relax?
RJ: I usually just hang out. I watch my fair share of film. But my days off I'm usually just sitting in my living room playing some video game or something.
Prime: Nice. You must be playing Madden, man. Has it been hard to adjust to the speed of the RZFL? Have you gotten up to speed yet?
RJ: At first maybe, but I think I have All World athleticism. So the player speed wasn’t nothing. Coach made things simple for me so it's really been an easy transition.
Prime: I was told you are a big time hunter? What's the biggest animal you've taken down? And how is hunting wild game like playing DB?
RJ: Well since I’ve been in Miami, I took down some gators. That was pretty cool. Hunting you're trying to kill something. And playing DB, you're trying to keep the wide receiver from catching the ball. Do you understand what hunting is Prime?
Prime: Haha! I understand fully, man. I was stalking WRs and hunting that football when I played! Ok. Now finally, the Primetime question, my man. What's your mama's house look like?
RJ: Its nice. I did Mama good. She gotta big ole house in OKC and Condo in Miami. She set up pretty nicely, sir.
Prime: Excellent, brotha. Tell mama I'm coming for Thanksgiving. Haha! I appreciate you, man. Good luck the rest of this season. And great luck in your career!
RJ: Thanks, Prime. I'm comin for you, dude! And I'll let mama know to set a place at the table for ya. Haha!
Prime: Cool, bruh. See you there. This has been 10 Questions with ya boy Primetime and R.J. Horne! We out, Man!
