10 Questions with Primetime - Tucker Martin

Prime: It’s ya boy Prime! Back atcha RZ Nation! We got the #5 pick in the RZ37 Draft. This time it’s Saints QB, Tucker Martin! Wassup brotha?

TM: Hey, how’s it goin? Always great to talk to a legend.

Prime: Man its going great. Feelin very Legendary today. You know what it is. 10 questions, my man.

TM: Heard I was doing this earlier in the week, been excited, real excited.

Prime: Excellent, man! I’m excited to have you here. I interviewed you after the Draft. And you were excited, to say the least. Why were you so excited, man? I figured it was a chance to learn behind a Legend.

TM: It’s a great experience you know? Living out a dream I've had since I was young, knowing I’m playing with a great group of guys that are hungry and ready to win.

Prime: That’s always a great thing man. Stay hungry. You ended up taking over for Drew. Was that surreal? Did you have any idea that would happen?

TM: Not really no, I mean, I got a feeling when I saw what New Orleans gave up to get me, but I didn't think it would be this soon. It was a very
intense moment.

Prime: This is a tough league, man. How has coach Panos prepared you for the rigors of the RZFL?

TM: Simple things, learning the offense, playing to my strengths, using my natural abilities to get out of the pocket and make plays.

Prime: Excellent, brotha. Master those simple things and the others will come naturally. You came up from the famed USC program. Did playing in that balanced offense they run hinder or help you in the RZFL?

TM: I would say it helped. You can never be too prepared for the big time. I came knowing the type of offense coach wanted to install. But I also had other skills I was able to hone throughout college.

Prime: Knowledge is Power. Have you had a chance to go out and experience Nawlins? Bourbon Street? What’s your favorite place to eat so far?

TM: I love Street Barbecue, I don't quite have a favorite place, but little spots that feel like home are always a pleasure.

Prime: Make sure you go to Mr B’s in the French Quarter, man. Tell em Prime sent ya for the Primetime Gumbo Special ;) Trust me. Who’s the best receiver in the RZ NOT on your team? Who would you love to throw the ball to?

TM: Antonio Brown. The guy makes plays for his team. He always knows where the markers are, and what needs to be done. Has been one of my favorites to watch for a few years.

Prime: One of the best to ever do it, man. Could be the best ever when it’s all said and done. How long did it take you to adjust to the huge playbook Coach Panos uses in Nawlins? What are some of the things you did to get up to speed from the College system?

TM: Not too long actually. A lot of the stuff coach implemented are things I was already accustomed to doing at USC. Coach told me the main thing was using my brains more than my arm, knowing when to check down, knowing when to run, things that all rely more on instinct.

Prime: Smart man. You got a good one to teach you the Pro QB Life. Rookies normally get hazed. But not so much at the QB position. Did you get hazed? Did you have to pay a huge check for a bunch vets?

TM: I had to wear a Drew Brees Jersey for about a month straight. I also had to pay for quite a few dinners during training camp.

Prime: Haha! Man those rookie paid meals can get expensive. I saw an Eagle rookie dinner bill for 64K! Somebody woulda caught these hands, man. Haha! I heard you’re a huge practical joker. What the biggest prank you’ve played so far on one of your teammates?

TM: Willie loves his hair, he uses a special product to keep it flowing like it does. Well, before a divisional game against the panthers, I put
a bunch of glue in his bottle, I know, awful horrific thing to do to someone, but he freaked out. It was worth it, and his luscious locks are still there,
so everyone is happy.

Prime: Hahaha! Oh Man! You are brave! He got that Polamalu Million Dollar Hair Insurance Plan?? Ok. My Famous Last Question, man. How big a house did you get moms, man?

TM: She's a simple lady, she wanted a ranch in Northern Arizona, so that's what she got.

Prime: Nice man. I hope you got her some nice Arabian Horses to go with it. Haha! Ok, that’s it my dude. Thanks for sharing with me today. This has been 10 Questions with Primetime with ME, Primetime, and my man Tucker Martin. We out. PEACE!
