Thank You Baltimore - A Letter from Coach
After 7 seasons in Baltimore, the run comes to an end. And what a run it was.
5 AFC North titles.
2 AFC Conference titles.
2 RZ Bowl Championships.
Two championships in back to back seasons (Seasons 75 and 76) over the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Commanders, which saw a run of our Ravens going 30-4 in the regular season over 2 years, and 6-0 in playoff games, for a total of a 36-4 run to end the cycle.
The cycle was defined by some massive superstar trades (Quinnen Williams, Saquon Barkley, Maxx Crosby, Marshon Lattimore), and some great finds in the draft (Zach Bruggerman, Brian Hastings, Courtland Aldridge, Antwuan Leslie, Isaiah Ross). We managed to finish the cycle with 5 starting offensive lineman at 80+ OVR, and one of the best overall defenses in the league.
We traded for Saquon Barkley in Season 74, and in two full seasons with Baltimore, he finished with back to back 2000 total yard seasons, 43 rushing touchdowns, and 9 receiving touchdowns. He won the Season 75 Offensive Player of the Year award as well.
None of it could be done without superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson.
In 7 seasons...
-30,062 passing yards
-230 passing TDs
-108 interceptions
-5741 rushing yards
-45 rushing TDs
One of the best performances from a quarterback I have ever had in a cycle unfortunately never earned a MVP trophy, but did hoist two championships, and won RZ Bowl 75 MVP.
Thank you for all the memories in Baltimore, it was a cycle I won't soon forget. On to our next chapter...
