Eagles are seeing the next evolution of Carson Wentz

A New Era - It Begins With Forgiveness

BREAKING - Coach Mike Adelmann has agreed to an 8 year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, with options for potentially two more seasons depending on the CBA.

Wow. Who would have thought that headline would pop up on the news ticker? Going into the coaching carousel, we certainly didn't. Coming off a fourth championship, we knew the offers were going to pour in.

After Buffalo agreed to terms with Coach Panos, it was our turn. The offers came quickly. Cincinnati wanted us to mentor Joe Burrow the way we mentored Kyler Murray. Seattle wanted a reuinion, they hadn't found success since our regime was there last. Finally, Green Bay got desparate. This is an organization that stinks of desparation, and after losing Mike Mojica and downgrading to Patrick Allen, they needed a proven winner.

Philly was our first call received. They talked to us about the quarterback room of Carson Wentz and Jalen Hurts, how Carson is a MVP candidate, and Hurts is a fantastic developmental piece. The weapons in place, with Alshon Jeffrey, DeSean Jackson, Marquise Goodwin, Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert....so many. They even added another in Jalen Reagor in the first round.

The defense as well, with Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett, Darius Slay...so many elite players. They spoke about getting Philly back to the promised land. It has been since the years of Coach Duce Staley, the infamous 3 year run. Since then, it has been nothing but sorrow and defeat.

We agreed to terms, but it required more than contract numbers and buttkissing. It required forgiveness. My loyalties lie with my home state in Minnesota, with the team I brought a championship to years ago, the Vikings. The Eagles and their fans ripped a hole in us that hasn't quite been fixed, and even seeing the area code for Philadelphia send me into a PTSD-infused sweat.

I told them it would be difficult to don the green visor, to run out of the tunnel at Lincoln Financial, where I saw hopes and dreams die. They told me I'd be embraced by this fanbase like none other. 'No hard feelings' was the phrase used to discuss those fateful Vikings/Eagles heartbreakers.

So I began my career in Philadelphia with forgiveness. I am ready to forgive Philly's fans, and embrace them as my own. Philadelphia....let's get to work!!!
