Bengals Week 2 Press Conference

Good evening everyone! Man am I fired up! I knew it was gonna be a good game but man! Getting a win in overtime against a team like that is something that we are super proud of especially when we got 5 out of about 20 votes to win that game. I am very pleased with how the team played all around. Joe Burrow played so well. Throwing for over two hundred and fifty yards with one TD and no interceptions and completing nineteen out of twenty one passes? What a game for him. What a "welcome to the league" moment. Joe Mixon broke a hundred yards and really took over in overtime. I don't think we threw a single pass and Gio only got a couple carries in the extra quarter. John Ross broke a hundred yards through the air and got an early touchdown that gave wind to our sails early. The defense came up with another three takeaway game. First of the regular season but in preseason they showed they can do that often. Vonn Bell was everywhere. Making tackles and logging an interception. They gave us a run for our money to end the game and Boyd and Ross made huge catches to put us in field goal range to tie it. What a kick from Bullock too right? Iced and all. I will now take questions.

Q: What did you guys do to prepare for this game? Anything different than week one?

A: Yes actually. I've started a new tradition of going to McDonalds, getting two hot and spicys, a large sweet tea, and some fries and then listen to the Pokémon theme song before kickoff. I'm joking. I actually did that but I mean you prep different for every team. This was more of a stop the run game and try to have them beat us through the air. Which was working until Case Keenum came in.

Q: Some analysts had you guys winning two to four games. How big is it to get an early win like this?

A: Any win is huge. To have one early against a team like that who just beat the Ravens shows we aren't scrubs. We can and will compete to the best of our ability week in and week out. All that media noise is fun to listen to. Fires the guys up a bit. A real underdog season we want to have.

Q: You're coming up on a week three matchup against the Eagles, another game no one gives you guys a shot. Are you confident you can win this one as well?

A: I'm as confident in our guys as they are in me. I think there are a ton of good takeaways from this game. Especially for Joe Burrow. He was a lot more calm in the pocket and made the correct reads and didn't force anything. Even in the late game. That Eagles team is very well coached and undefeated. So they will come out strong. We have minimal room for hiccups and if our defense plays well, we can win. Our defensive energy translates to our offense. When they're both clicking, we can beat anyone.

Thank you all for your time. I want to give props to the Browns on a very exciting game. So fun to coach against Coach Prew. I look forward to seeing you guys next week after hopefully another "Cinderella" win.
