Bengals Overview

Hello everyone! This is Coach Andrew or Coach V if you’re a last name guy and can’t spell or pronounce mine, the coach of the Cincinnati Bengals! With all the slander towards my squad in various podcasts I just want to say I am loving what I see from this team early. Besides Astin smacking me up and down the field for 4 quarters we have done super well. We have defeated guys like Moji and Blueprint in precycle scrimmages. Side note, I don’t think I’m going to get destroyed by the Ravens as many may think. I may lose, but it’s not going to be a slaughter. With that said, let me hit on some key things I feel to look for this cycle from my squad.

Joe Burrow- Elephant in the room right? I’m sure everyone is curious how Burrow will do under myself and I also am. But with the scrims and 2 preseason games he’s played I am super impressed with how he is. In all those games combined he’s only thrown 2 “______ inaccurate throw” balls. And in preseason threw 1 INT but that’s because I forced one in an “and goal” situation. Which is very stupid to leave with 0 instead of 3. His accuracy is great so far, he’s somewhat mobile but no Lamar by ANY means. He’s the perfect project for anyone. And this is why I’m super excited.

Young Skill Players- Where do I start when it comes to youth on this team!? We have Burrow, Mixon, Ross, Boyd, Tate, and Higgins. Everyone is performing how you can assume. Mixon is a hard nose runner but can run someone over before he necessarily makes a man miss. He’s great inside the 5 yard line. Giovani Bernard isn’t young (28)but he’s a great compliment to Mixon. Boyd is more of an inside the hashes guy. He drops some passes on contact but gets open in 1 on 1 coverage with his cuts. Auden Tate doesn’t see too many balls come his way but when he does he catches them and he’s already a star dev. John Ross is the obvious deep threat with his blazing speed but he’s also great in a WR run situation. Obviously one of my favorite and most reliable guys. C.J Uzomah is 27 but he’s still one of the guys I can rely on a lot. Know he’s not young and I love him since he’s an Auburn guy but he’s not getting a section by himself. He’s a hard nose guy that has ran a few dudes over in my time here. Finally Tee Higgins. With all my young WR it’s hard to find him snaps but when he’s in he’s fantastic. He already has a TD where he beat a guy in press coverage and made a beautiful over the shoulder toe tap grab. I have no lack of potential and already talent in the skill player department offensively.

Defense- This one is tough. We have bright spots. D.J. Reader, Jessie Bates who has been phenomenal, and my man Carl Lawson are a few. There’s obviously some spots here we will need help but my first focus is the atrocious offensive line. As many other teams obviously, when my defense plays well I feel any game is winnable. In some games they will lock down and other games they will crap the bed. Defensive play will dictate how games go for me big time.

Coaching: Am I bottom tier in RZ coaching? It’s possible. Am I still gonna compete the best of my ability? Yes. I understand my low rankings in a bunch of things due to my terrible couple seasons in Buffalo but to be fair that team was no where near as talented as the one I have now. When I saw the Bengals in my options I almost cried. Also to the point I’m still a “new guy”. I’ve played a select few users so the whole league hasn’t seen what I can do and if I win, if I can do it consistently. Not saying I will. Not tooting my own horn. But I am a lot more confident this cycle. Like many of you probably, after RZ ended on Madden 20 I didn’t stop playing. I played every day. And I am a lot more comfortable making reads in the pocket and trying to recognize things before they happen. I feel I have improved to an extent. Do I think I’m a playoff team? Absolutely not. I also don’t think I’m a 2 win team either. I’m super excited for the cycle and to get out there with this team I have. Also excited to attempt to show the league I belong here.
