Home Invasion

The Tennessee Titans opened up Nissan Stadium for first time this season and hosted their division rivals Indianapolis Colts. The Titans' hospitality was far too generous as they let the Colts leave with a win, 45-35.

Mariota improved upon his horrendous week five performance in Detroit by tossing for 363 yards and three touchdowns on over 70% completion percentage. While his play was greatly improved upon, he still had two costly interceptions that made it difficult for the Titans to remain competitive. While the absence of All-Pro Darius Jackson was definitely felt, the rest of the team did well to step up in their play. I'm fact, the entire offense did well to keep up with the Colts.

This week the blame falls on the defense and the special teams. The Titans D allowed over 480 yards of total offense, and only had one turnover in the day. They did well to contain the Colts run game at moments, but yielded? a couple of big plays and enough short yardage conversions to sustain the Colts offense. It was also a difficult day for the Titans pass defense, which couldn't do much to contain the multi-headed receiving monster that is the Colts receiving corps. Ben Dwight and Martavius Bryant each had over one hundred yards and finding the endzone three times between them. The Titans special teams also failed to deliver, as they missed multiple extra points and a field goal.

The Titans homestay with short-lived, and they are back on the road for week 7 as they travel out east to face the Baltimore Ravens, who are surging at 5 - 1 for the season.
