Has The Tide Turned?

The Tennessee Titans put together an impressive win, defeating the Indianapolis Colts 35 - 29. The win was the Titans second in a row, and their first win at home. Has this been the turnaround that the Titans were waiting for?

The Titans defense did an impressive job of containing the potent Colts, making them a one-dimensional offense. This marked the first time this season the Titans held an opponent to under 100 rushing yards. The theme of the day was "Bend but don't Break", as the Titans defense forced the Colts to take field goals instead of touchdowns when they needed it. The Colts made a valiant comeback, scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough. Kevin Byard led the team with three solo tackles, 11 tackles assists, and a forced fumble.

The Titans offense was extremely effective running the ball. Darius Jackson led the day with 139 yards on the ground. This game mark the third time that the Titans were able to get over 150 team yards on the ground. Marcus Mariota continued his turnover streak, tossing three interceptions. However, these turnovers weren't made deep in their own territory as they were in previous games. He also contributed the touchdown passes to balance the scales. Two of those TD passes were to Delanie Walker. This was his first multiple touchdown game of the season. It also marked the first time he had over 100 yards receiving in a game this season. He led the team with seven receptions for 109 yards and two touchdowns.

These two consecutive wins bring the Titans to 3-5 at the halfway mark of the season, and bring them into their bye with a much-needed confidence boost. After the by the Titans open up their season series hosting the Texans, hoping to send them home in defeat.
