After a 10-6 season and a wildcard birth into the playoffs Seahawks fans were dissapointed when their superbowl dreams fell short with a conference championship 10-19 loss in Philadelphia to previous OMFL Bowl winner Ducks. Overall it was a very successful season for the Seahawks, winning their first and second ever OMFL playoff games in the wildcard round 43-20 over the Vikings and subsequently knocking off the back to back defending OMFL Bowl Champion Dwayne and his Falcons 17-13 in the divisional round. That brings Coach Mo's OMFL lifetime playoff record to 2-2.
Many rumors have been swirling in the Seattle air about what will happen to the team this offseason with so many key contributors on expiring contracts. QB Russell Westbrook, FS Earl Thomas, MLB Bobby Wagner, LT Joe Thomas, RE Carlos Dunlap, DT Michael Bennett, CB Josh Shaw, CB Jeremy Lane, SS Patrick Chung, LG Joe Haeg are just among the starters who are still yet to be signed. With only 1 franchise tag available and many of these guys asking for 5 year deals there may be massive turnover on the Seahawks team once again this offseason.
With 3 first round picks as well as multiple picks in rounds 2 and 3 along with some opening cap space there will be many important new faces on the roster when next season kicks off. It will be very intriguing to see where the Seahawks go from here. With Free Agency less then 24 hours from opening Coach Mo only had this to say, "Prepare yourself for another successful talent overhaul here in Seattle folks. It's Superbowl or bust for us!"
