The Seahawks have officially began their winter migration in hopes of finding somewhere warm to rest until next season. Since we last left you they have dropped another 3 games in a row to move their season record to 2-10. Quite the accomplishment 1 year after going 13-3. When we asked coach Mo about the season he proclaimed "This season blows. I have tried different things and nothing works. I give up. It's time to focus solely on next season."
It looks like the Seahawks will be lazer focused on grooming their talent for next year at this point. Set to lose many players in the offseason it makes sense for this team to start preparing for the future. With guys like K.J. Wright, Jermaine Kearse, Carlos Hyde, Henry Anderson, Dezmen Southward, Dominque Easley, and more expected to be gone it is time to let the young guys step in and see who can fill those spots.
WR's Tyler Lockett and Gavin Dildine have already proven they are the future at the WR position. OLB Kevin Pierre-Louis will be tested out the rest of the year to fill the spot which will be vacated by K.J. Wright. RB Carlos Hyde was brought in this year but was really never given a shot. Management is dead set on making RB Donald Grimes work out one way or another. The future of this organization may be tied to managements stubborness when it comes to Donald Grimes. If he continues to flounder the way he did this year it may be a long time until this team rights itself.
The entire offensive line will be kept intact going into next year as well. The Seahawks may look to the draft or FA to bolster the group but they will not be losing anyone and are not desperate for upgrades yet. Maybe they should be with the way the running game has been going but management thinks there are other areas of greater need. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for a pre-offseason report from Seattle.
