After a crushing 12-24 home playoff loss to the Atlanta Falcons in the divisional round of last years playoffs coach Mo was no where to be found. The media scoured Seattle in attempts to contact coach Mo but it seemed he had gone into hiding. TMZ finally spotted coach Mo in New York City of all places. When cornered on the streets of New York City coach Mo claimed he needed time away with his wife and some friends to clear his head. He told TMZ "I just wanted to drink my sorrows away on New Years Eve and forget about that blunder of a game we had against the Falcons. I am still in shock about that botched kickoff catch attempt after that Fatty Matty Ryan scramble for the touchdown. Now get out of my face." No documentation of coach Mo's New Years Eve exists and he refused to make any further comment on what transpired on his trip to New York City.
What we do know now is that coach Mo did not even make it back to Seattle in time for the entire offseason(free agency or the draft) or the first game of the season vs Dallas. It appeared coach Mo was clearly more concerned with himself then the future of his team. He left all offseason duties and the 3 draft picks the Seahawks had in the hands of fellow GM Ducks. Luckily Ducks was able to draft 2 star rookies in the forms of Donald Grimes and Gavin Dildine.
After the CPU loss to the Cowboys coach Mo finally decided to get on a plane back to Seattle and get back to the job Seattle was paying him for. Suprisingly, coach Mo was not fired for missing the first game of the season and then flying back just in time to coach the week 2 matchup vs the Packers. Showing lots of rust and hopefully(for his coaching future) still just recovering from his escapades in New York City coach Mo led his team to the worst loss of his coaching career in the OMFL 3-22.
Now settled back into his routine coach Mo is hoping to turn the team around from the 0-2 start. Coach Mo had this to say when we asked him about the schedule this year, "Well I have to admit, the schedule this year looks pretty daunting. I mean tonight we have a matchup against the Chargers and then we play the Vikings, Cardinals, Bears, Lions, and it goes on and on. I am a realist and am frankly hoping we can just end the season with a winning record." With a considerably harder schedule and an 0-2 start the Seahawks look poised to step down from the title they held as division champs last year.
