Saints Cry 'No Moor-ison' in Philly
Eagles fly high and Saints place another star player on IR for the season

Saints are coming off placing their franchise QB on IR for the season. The Eagles are coming off hiring a new coach - 3rd in 3 weeks. Saints are planning for a solid draft. The Eagles are planning for a deep playoff run. Saints have given up, while the Eagles have nothing but hope. This one could be ugly or the Saints could shock the GFML.

Saints would lean on defense this game. Their pass defense has played very well the last few weeks, holding the last 3 QBs under 100 yards going into the 4th quarter. They moved their SS to FS and gave Jones a start at SS. The coach also took control of a new LB on the outside instead of controlling a S or MLB.

The new look would work - to a point. The saints pass defense played very well and the run defense played much better than in the past. The problem was they gave up one huge run for 62 yards, which set up a TD.

On offense the Saints were glad to have Smith back, but the Eagles began to stack the box and not respect the Saints passing attack, which was the right plan. Saints couldn't get anything going passing the ball until Savage hit Morrison for a 57 yard screen play. Morrison would get hit and break his collarbone on the play and have to be placed on IR. The second star player in as many weeks to do so for the Saints.

Saints would score a TD on a crazy defensive play where the Eagles would pick it off in the endzone, get hit and fumble, recover by Saints and Smith takes it in for the TD. Saints have struggled all year and this game was the cherry on the top.

Saints young defense played much better and has shown some hope. Saints will struggle through the remainder of the season without their star QB and star WR.
