Patriots Demolish Hurting Saints
Zack Mettenburger placed on IR - Saints season is moving south

The Saints have been reeling all season and then had to open their doors for the red hot New England Patriots. The Patriots have been steam rolling through teams and were coming off a close and heated game against the Steelers the week previous. Saints get back Demps this week, but Demps is no more than a back up, change of pace back, yet the Saints knew after their game against the Jets last week, they knew their season was over. Saints would start a bunch of young players and rookies for expereince as they prepare of tthe offseason and next year.

Saints would start off pretty hot. Mettenburger would go 3 for 3 with a TD and 93 yards as the Saints scored on their first drive. The defense was playing well, but did give up a big run which allowed the Patriots to score. Next drive Zack would get hit, dislocate his elbow and be done for the game and season. Nothing could get going after that.

Patriots 3 and 4 man rush with a zone was unbeatable for the Saints backup QB Savage, as he only completed 2 out of 11 passes with an INT. While the Pats stuck to the run and just hammered out a great defensive game plan. This game was all Patriots after the Zack injury and showed a lot of the Saints problems.

Saints will make some move arounds on defense and get Smith back next week. In comes Glennon to help sure up the QB spot for the remainder of the season. The injuries have not been kind to the Saints this year but they must find a way to finish.
