The Los Angeles Rams have jumped off to a hot start in season 72, beating the Dallas Cowboys (24-22), Detroit Lions (24-14), and Miami Dolphins (24-7).  While the defense is currently ranked 2nd in points allowed and passing yards allowed, the offense are in need of some major improvements. Coach went over the stat sheet of the first 3 games during Monday’s media conference.

Offense: The offense is currently ranked 30th in passing yards and 26th in rushing yards. Jared Goff is on track (501 yds-4tds) to produce the same numbers he did last season. The only upside compared to last year is that Goff’s rating is significantly higher at 85.5 than 66.7 last season. Alex Collins has not been his self since his 1500 yard rushing in season 70, Collins was averaging 3.9 ypc until he got injured during the game against Miami. His 99 injury rating couldn’t protect him from an abdominal tear that put him out of commission for 4-5 weeks. Denard Hocker was poised to have a breakout year but got injured during the game against Lions. Hocker was leading the team in receptions and yards before the injury but veteran, DeAndre Hopkins, is leading the team now (12-156).

Defense: The defensive line has been the backbone for the Rams the past seasons and season 72 is no different. The defense has a total of 17 sacks for the first 3 games. Aaron Donald is currently tied 1st in the league with 8 sacks. Newcomer linebackers, DeAndre Levy and Reshad Jones, both grabbed an interception in the win over the Cowboys. Armond Fountain is tied 1st place in the league with a total of 3 interceptions.

Aaron Donald and the Rams finally agreed on a long term contract. Rams were excited they do not have to franchise tag Donald for the fourth consecutive year.

In the next three weeks the Los Angeles Rams will take on the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and the Philadelphia Eagles.
