Rams Lose Again; 1-4 Going into Bye Week
The Los Angeles Rams lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last night 27-3, bringing their record to 1-4 for season 71. Like the rest of the games this season, it was a close match in the 1st half but the offense couldn’t move the ball and made crucial turnovers; Goff ended the game with 4 interceptions. “Our defense is not getting pressure like they have been in the past which is not helping our secondary at all and on offense we just can’t get the ball rolling, I feel we are becoming too predictable at crucial times of the game”. During the Friday’s media conference, Coach Dawson went over the individual stats for the Rams.
Offense:
The offense hasn’t exceeded anybody’s expectations so far. Starting RB Alex Collins (72-261 yds) is only averaging 3.6 YPC while backup Deontae Peck (25-175) is taking advantage of his snaps, averaging 7 YPC. Jared Goff is a top priority for the front office to resign this season but with 10 interceptions and only 3 passing touchdowns, he’s not having a good season at all. Many of the fans are blaming Coach Dawson with his poor play calling as the cause of the awful offensive stats, and rightfully so. “I’m calling piss poor plays but Goff need to throw more accurate and the WR corp need to stop dropping so many open catches, we all need to do a better job”.
Defense:
The media asked Coach Dawson if he could describe the current performance of the defense, “awful, they’re not getting any pressure and that’s been our go-to formula to win games in the past seasons, we need to change something up but we’re not sure what to change as of right now”. Aaron Donald was a force last season with 20 sacks but after five games this season he only has 2. Four of the five leading solo tacklers on the team are in the secondary, “Defense is not doing their job when the leading tacklers are in the secondary, just means the front seven is not shedding blocks fast enough”.
Rams have a much needed bye this week then will face off against the Saints and Falcons in week 7 & 8.
