Chiefs Hands Rams First Loss of Season 70; 16-9
The Los Angeles Rams was hoping to get out of week 13 with a win but Kansas City Chiefs had other plans. “We couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities we had and turned the ball over during crucial times in the game”.
Rams was able to stop the Chiefs on their first series but instead of going out of bounds during the punt return, Cordarrelle Patterson fumbled the ball while also pulling his groin (out up to 4 weeks). The very next play was a gut punch to the Rams as Chiefs rookie RB, DeMarcus Presley, ran a 50-yard rushing touchdown. Alex Collins was running strong in the 1st half but Chiefs’ front seven was able to stifle the run game in the 2nd half.
The defense couldn’t get pressure like they have been throughout the season, this was the first game since week 3 that Aaron Donald didn’t have a sack in. The chances for him to break the season sack record is slowly dwindling, he will need to have 9 sacks in the last four games to break the record.
Coach Dawson was frustrated on the team’s performance last night. “It was an ugly game all around, offense was missing blocks and fumbling the ball while the defense was moving like a sloth out on the field”.
To round out season 70, Los Angeles will face Green Bay, Minnesota, Seattle and Arizona.
