Rams Make History; First Time 7-0

The Los Angeles Rams won tonight against division rival San Francisco 49ers 22-10, bringing their overall record to 7-0. Coach Dawson is pleased and surprised with their record but realizes the team still have room for improvement. “I’m excited how well our guys have played so far but going forward there are a lot of areas we need to improve on”. During the postgame media conference, Coach Dawson went over the individual’s statistics for the first half of season 70 over a glass of gin.

Offense: Rams offense shown sparks but have been having to rely more on the defense than what Coach Dawson would like to. Jared Goff eclipsed over 1000 passing yards during tonight’s game. “Jared is a leader on and off the field, we haven’t had to rely on his passing skills this season like the past two seasons. We are hoping this won’t hurt us in the end”. If passing statistics stay the same for the rest of the season, Jared Goff will only reach 2,500 passing yards for the season. Currently the Rams’ passing offense is ranked last in the NFL. While passing has been somewhat mediocre, Alex Collins is having a career season at running back leading the team with over 600 rushing yards. Rams came into tonight’s game with the 3rd rushing offense in the league but with less than 100 rushing yards against the 49ers, will mostly move out of that spot. Rookie WR, Denard Hocker, leads the team in receptions with 26 but he is still looking to get his first NFL touchdown.

Defense: Despite long term negotiations going amiss, Aaron Donald is having a spectacular season with 11 sacks in 7 games. “Aaron is playing like his usual self, if he keeps it up he will be in the running for DPOY award”. The defense is currently in the top ten in every category; points allowed, rushing and passing yards allowed, and total yards allowed. Dawson was persistent on staying focus, “defense is looking good so far but we need to stay focus with the second half of the season coming up, anything can happen”. While FS, Armond Fountain, still recovering from a broken collarbone; Brian Randolph has been able to fill the void and currently is tied on the team with interceptions (3).

After several offers to Aaron Donald, it’s obvious he is wanting a 5-year contract regardless how much money is offered, Franchise Tag is inevitable. It was reported Alex Collins accepted a 4 year, $15.4 million extension, Alex was brought to tears when asked what would be his first big purchase, “I’m going to buy my mom a house and save the rest for my life after football”.

After a bye in week 8, Los Angeles Rams will have 4 straight home games against Eagles, Broncos, Lions and Seahawks.
