The Darkest Hour is Just Before Dawn
The Los Angeles Rams ended the 2017 season with a 5-11 record after tonight’s win over the Arizona Cardinals (19-16). For a city known as “City of Angels”, the Rams are glad the rollercoaster ride through hell is finally over. “We could never get the ball rolling, we win a game then lose 3 straight…. I’ll be the first one to take responsibility for how bad this season went but we need to start looking toward the future”, Coach Dawson was quoted during tonight’s media conference.
OFFENSE: Offensive starters Jared Goff and Todd Gurley both went down during week 15 loss to the Seahawks. With no chance for a playoff spot and only two games left, Coach Dawson decided to place both on IR, ending their season. Sean Mannion (QB) and Alex Collins (RB) filled the void for the last two games. There have been rumors that Gurley might not be in a Rams uniform come next season. Dawson was asked about the rumors, “It’s true, we love him here and have no problem keeping him until his contract expires, but this is a business and we need to start investing in the future of the team”. Tavon Austin has earned himself a new contract by leading the team in receptions and rec. yards (66 -1,166 yds). Dawson is hopeful they will be able to work something out before FA signings.
DEFFENSE: Rookie FS, Armond Fountain, have lead the team in tackles all season. He’s currently setting in 3rd place for the NFC Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. Aaron Donald leads the team with 14 sacks but ended the season somewhat on a cold streak with 0 sacks in the last two games. Captain of the defense for the last two years, Alec Ogletree, played his last game as a Ram. Ending his season with 46 solo tackles and 5 interceptions. Dawson praised his leadership and work ethic.
Before signing off Coach Dawson announced there will be a recognition ceremony as well as an up to date trading block list in the coming days.
