Seattle uses Big Plays to soar past Jets

The New York Jets arrived in Seattle to take on the Seahawks looking to build off their recent win over the Baltimore Ravens.  All looked well as the Jets took the opening drive of the game and cashed it in for three points to take an early lead in the game.  That quickly changed, as Tyler Lockette returned the ensuing kick off 108 yards to the house for the score.  The Seahawks would use an 89 yard TD to Jimmie Graham a 71 yard TD to Hakeem Nicks.  That would make the score 21-3 before the 1st quarter would end.  It could have been 28-3 minutes later as Earl Thomas picked off Bryce Petty and tripped up on his way to the house.  The Seahawks would miss the long FG attempt to keep the score at 21-3.  The Jets would use a 14 yard TD pass to Brandon Marshall to cut the score to 21-10.  They would have a few more opportunities in the 1st half to cut more into the lead of the Seahawks only to see turnovers end those hopes.  Ronnie Hillman would fumble after a 10 yard run deep in Seattle territory to squander the first chance and Petty would see his pass picked off in the endzone by Richard Sherman to close out the half.  The Seattle defense would make a strong goal line stand in the second half to hold the Jets to a FG.  Russel Wilson would scamper in for a 10 yard TD run on the next possession to extend the lead back out to 28-13.  That would conclude the scoring on the day for both teams.  Coach Dawgs said after the game " I'm proud of our guys for not mailing it in there, it was a horrible first quarter to the game.  We fought back and in the end we just didn't make enough plays to turn it around.  Give full credit to them, they played a heck of a game there."

The Seahawks will travel to division foe Arizona next week as the Jets will travel to play the Titans.
