Philadelphia Opens Season With Win

The Philadelphia Eagles kicked off the year with a 19-7 win over the San Francisco 49ers following season 71's OMFL Bowl win over the Patriots. The Eagles were able to capitalize on the 49ers errors in the game, picking off newly-added QB Russell Wilson 5 times in what was a rematch of a divisional round playoff game from last season.

Philly saw this game as a feeling-out process with the addition of Odell Beckham Jr. into the receiving corps. OBJ moved all over the field against the 49ers playing the slot and the #1 WR spot on many plays, but the standout performer was Dorial Green-Beckham, who caught two passes for 79 yards and a TD.

CJ Prosise was able to put up 80 yards rushing on just 12 carries against a stingy SF run defense that was top five in the league last season. Wendell Smallwood struggled with two fumbles, but gave the Eagles their other TD of the game on the goal line.

Defensively, new starting safety Rashawn Colclough grabbed 2 INT's, while Darqueze Dennard, Kelcy Lumpkin, and Ron Rood Jr. hauled in one apiece.

Philadelphia travels to New York in week 2 to take on the Giants in what will be their first divisional game of the year. The Eagles swept the season series last year.
