New to town Glenn 'Pops' Warner IV feeling the heat to retain the aging core from the faithful Kansas City fans for a final ride.
Warner insisting he was not hired to 'clean house' citing full controll of talent has been granted to him as 'acting' GM. That the cap has a major role to play.
No one in ownership is said to want any input on direction.
All-Pro Justin Houston and particularly KJ Wright both in their final year accounting for $30 million between the pair will be watching the draft closely.
Many feel Wright could be the odd man out post draft feeling Backer will be chosen early. Just how early depends on Warner's trust of Qb Trevor Siemian & or second year End Lawrence Newson.
However Warner is leary of letting the talented backer go feeling the defense is poised for a good season.
It is no secret there is not a lot of depth behind the local Chiefs legends; along with very limited cap space for Free Agency.
Leading most observers to believe the Chiefs will once again 'band' together with mostly the same Warriors as the last campaign.
Stay tuned for updates as they warrant of breaking Chiefs news!
