The game was a close contest from the start, but heading into the 4th quarter the Chiefs were up by 17 with the Patriots driving. At the start of the 4th the Pats scored with ease. When the Chiefs got the ball back they took their foot off the pedal and relinquished the lead at the end of the game and it headed into OT.
On their first drive of OT the Patriots drove down the field with relative ease, and Blount ran it into the endzone to end the game.
The turning point in the game happened as the Pats were driving at the end of the 4th and Justin Houston beat his man off the line and strip sacked Palmer. With the ball laying on the field, the Chiefs just had to lay on top of it to win the game but they could not recover the ball and the Pats tied it up.
