The Chargers' front office locked up their remaining potential free agent this week, signing safety Demontre Hurst to a 2 year extension for a little under 2 million.
Hurst, 25, was a trade acquisition from the Chicago Bears this offseason.
"I'm glad we could lock him up. He's learning a lot from (Brandon) Flowers right now and I think that will only help him, and us, going forward," Coach Winuvas said of the signing.
In other roster news, outside linebacker Lorenzo Maudlin IV was signed to push incumbent starter Kyle Emanuel and backup Norman Cobb.
"Lorenzo gives us a different rush style at that other outside linebacker spot," Coach Winuvas said, "He's a more finesse-based rusher. We are trying everything to get this team better."
Maudlin IV, 23, gives the Chargers another young outside linebacker in a lineup full of youth and inexperience. Can this team perform to a level worthy of GFML status?
