Three weeks ago the Cardinals were sitting at 7-2 and feeling good about their chances atop the NFCW. Fast forward three weeks later and the Cards now sit in second place, dropping 2 of their last 3 in dominate fashion and fighting just to make the playoffs.
Three weeks ago was the game against the Giants. A game which watched E.Manning toss 4 touchdowns while J.Garoppolo tossed 2 interceptions and was pulled from the game for rookie J.Francis. J.Adams and O.Beckham Jr each had their way with the Cardinal defense all day long. J.Pierre-Paul had 2 sacks to lead the Giants defense.
Two weeks ago was a game agains the Rams. J.Garoppolo would continue his struggles with 3 more interceptions. A.Fountain would pick him off twice and get a forced fumble to go with 3 tackles on the day. Saving grace though was the Cardinals defense which forced 5 interceptions of J.Goff. B.Klopfenstein would have two of them and M.Floyd would do his part with 108 yards on 8 receptions. Cardinals would escape with an ugly win.
This week the Cards would host the Colts and things went even more ugly for J.Garoppolo. Jimmy would throw 3 more picks for 9 in the last three games. Much like Eli two weeks prior, A.Luck would only have 2 incompletions and pass for 4 touchdowns and 350+ yards. P.Dorsett would have 120 yards and the Cardinals had zero rushing attack. T.Green would have 2 of the three interceptions against the Cardinals.
So the Cardinals now find themselves at 8-4 and struggling to keep pace. Jimmy G has struggled and the rushing game has totally disappeared. The defense is being gashed at their strength of defending the pass and the team is in a major funk. The playoffs will quickly be apon us and the Cardinals will have to quickly get things figured out as the Saints are next on the list.
