Cardinals Come Back Verses 49ers for Second Win
The Arizona Cardinals have struggled this year, to say the very least. The defense has been gashed for big plays, the offensive line has not held up well and rushing lanes haven't existed for Johnson. The team has struggled to stay on the field on offensive 3rd downs and get off the field on defensive 3rd downs. Other than scoring and not stopping anyone, the teams been playing well. This week they hit the road for a divisional game to face the 49ers. 49ers get back their new old owner in Dakingpin and they are looking to find their footing. They are coming off a huge win last week, where the running game stepped up big time to lead the way.
The Cardinals would fight to get the rushing game going and Johnson would actually find holes from time to time. The passing game struggled today though as the 49ers defense harassed the OL all day long. The defense would play well for the Cards today and hold back the potent 49ers offense. They only gave up 1 long run and still held the 49ers under 100 yards rushing on the day.
Cardinals defense kept them in the game early with a defensive TD. They followed it up with 3 INTs on the day and also have a big stop late in the 4th quarter to seal the game. The Cardinals are working hard to figure this team out, but they have a long battle in front of them after a 1-3 start. Sitting at 2-3, they now turn their focus to their OL and LB issues which have still not been solved. Though the defense is beginning to jell together and play better as a group- more is needed.
Next up for the Cards is the Jets, as they look to keep this ball rolling.
