The Browns, last year finished top 5 in each category on the defense side of the ball, and offense they did good in terms of yardage. However they finished toward the bottom for points scored, and yards rushing per game. So, basically to sum it up, they couldn't run the ball, or put up enough points, from constantly sputtering out when getting inside the red zone. Nate Sudfeld in a contract year, is once again going to be named the starter. However, they have made inquiries about landing a veteran signal caller, or maybe they will next free agency. The Browns have stated they will not draft a qb, they developed Nate this far, if things don't go right look for them to look at proven qb.
In the first round they had pick 10, and they drafted Braxton Leak a free safety from Oregon he's only 21, but he was number one hands down on there board. The war room was excited when they finally turned in his name for the commissioner to announce. Pick 27, they went playmaker strong safety, Shanard Humes from Clemson. He should push Reid for the starter position from the first game one would think. Second round they, went best value wide receiver Sidney Groves, who might be the replacement for josh Gordon who's going into free agency next year. He will battle with Gage Sayers as the 4th wr as he learns the playbook, and the NFL speed.
The 3rd netted a corner Cory Greco who's now on the practice squad, and with two 4th round picks they went rolb Branton Blackmon, and lg TJ Richart. Guys who are going to battle for the 53 man roster. They drafted a center, a lolb, and even went kicker. Lots are going to be depth players and practice squad players. They also got a tight end undrafted and have pending claims breaking on twitter as we speak.
Leak, Humes, and wide out Groves all going to be, players we see on sundays. Stay tuned for this years recap of the first game. Browns fans are cautiously optimistic on the radio, on twitter and on the street.
