After Slow Start, Bills Cruise to 29-15 Win Over 49ers

The Buffalo Bills played host to the San Francisco 49ers this week and were able to come away with a 29-15 win. Turnovers plagued both teams in this game and both defenses were able to stop the opposing offense inside the red zone at least once.

On offense, the Bills were slow out of the gates after the 49ers scored on the first drive of the game. Buffalo was forced into a three-and-out on their first drive and was forced to punt it away to a team that had just driven straight down the field on the previous drive.

The defense came up big and forced a punt, allowing the offense to drive the field until a fumble inside the 49ers five yard line struck the Bills. The Buffalo defense would prevail yet again and force a safety two plays later. From then on, the Buffalo offense would score 27 unanswered points and really hit their stride in the third quarter when Darius Jackson had two carries of 20+ yards.

Once the run game was established for Tyrod Taylor, he was able to fool the defense a couple of times on play action passes, and ended the day with a pair of TD passes.

Buffalo led 29-7 until around the one minute mark in the 4th quarter, but by then, the damage had been dealt to the 49ers.

Next week, the Bills will take on the Miami Dolphins in their third divisional matchup. After the game, Buffalo will have played each AFC East opponent once. The Bills hold a 1-1 division record with a win over the Jets and a loss against the Patriots despite leading 20-7 with just over 2:00 remaining.

Buffalo will look to improve to 6-1 next week and stay one game behind the Patriots in the division.
