Giants and Steelers have made NRG headlines with the trade they have done this following week. The Giants traded 27 year old WR Odell Beckham Jr., who is the Giants greatest franchise receiver they have ever had, along with MLB Joey Peterman to the steelers. In return, the Steelers trade their best defensive player MLB Ryan Shazier along with a 2nd and 5th round picks.
The Steelers head coach didn't have much to say, but the Giants head coach Lawrence Taylor released this statement today. "Today was a sad and happy day. We have traded our best receiver this team has ever had, but in return we received the position we needed. This trade was because of Odell Beckham Jrs temper tantrum. It was simply a business decision. We felt, as the staff, that our receiving core was already in good shape and we desperately needed a MLB to help stop the pass and run. We feel that's what we get out of Shazier. Odell might not be apart of our team right now, but will always be in our hearts. Once a Giant always a Giant. I like to say, before or when he retires, he will retire a Giant!"
