Dolphins 3-1 through 4 games

by Sliptom | 3 years ago | 0 Comments

Following an opening loss to the division rival Patriots, the Dolphins have won 3 straight to put them atop the division. The offense has primarily relied on the arm of Tua Tagovailoa who has thrown 6 TDs and only 2 INTs in his 2nd NFL season. Nearly a quarter of his passing yards have gone to rookie WR Jaylen Waddle, who leads the team in receiving yards (and walkoff TDs). The running game has been a major weak spot, as the team has struggled to establish the rush behind a weak offensive line. RB Salvon Ahmed leads the team in carries, but has only averaged 3.8 yards a carry. Overall, the defense has carried the team during the winning streak, ranking 5th in the NFL in scoring defense and consistently generating turnovers. LB Jerome Baker is among the NFL leaders in tackles with 22, contributing 2 sacks and a forced fumble while calling the defensive plays. The pass rush has been solid as well, with a combined 7 sacks through 4 games to pair with the excellent coverage provided in the secondary. Next up, the Dolphins face the reigning SB champ Bucaneers in the battle for Florida (and reportedly, Lavonte David!)
