Titans add young talent in draft

Despite not having a 1st round pick, the Titans managed to add multiple young contributors in the draft. With their 1st second round pick, the team added athletic 6'3 CB Matthew Dent out of Oregon State, who was already received signicant playing time in nickel situations through the team's first 2 games of the season. With their next pick, the team added rangy MLB Kenny Ewing from Lehigh. Many analysts had projected Ewing to go in the 1st round, however he surprisingly fell into the Titans' laps. Ewing has already overtaken incumbent MLB Reggie Evans to become the team's #2 linebacker behind Jayon Brown. In the surprising supplemental draft, the team snagged WR DeVonta Smith from Alabama, adding to the team's collection of Heisman winners (Derrick Henry, Marcus Slay). The move came as a surprise to many, as the team's offense (and receiving corps) was elite by most metrics last year. Sources within the organization said that the team viewed him as the true burner that was missing from the offense, and were elated when he was available for them to take with the 2nd pick.
