Darnold goes down, Siemian leads comeback for first win of the season

Jets get one in the win column after beating the Eagles 27-17 lead by Trevor Siemian after Sam Darnold leaving the game with a lower back strain early in the 4th quarter. New York scored 20 unanswered pitching a 2nd half shutout.

Trevor Siemian 6 for 10 89 yards 1 TD (all in 4th quarter)

RB Le’veon bell 21 rush attempts for 94 yards 1 TD 3 catches 7 yards

MLB Blake Cashman 9 tackles 2 sacks 1 int

Game Grades

Offense: B

Slow start for the offense with less than 100 yards going into half. Darnold struggles again with 3 1st half INTs. Bell was efficient all game and was able to add balance to the offense. TE Herndon opened eyes with an impressive performance. Siemian sparked the offense in the 4th with 3 impressive scoring drives.

Defense: B+

Eagles were unable to run the ball and became 1 dementional fairly early in the game. Pass rush was enough to have Wentz uncomfortable. Pass coverage was outstanding contesting every pass. 

Special Teams: A

No big plays allowed. 2 for 2 on FG attempts.

 

Jets traded Williamson to instate rival the Giants early in the week for cap relief. Insert Blake Cashman to the starting role and made an immediate impact 9 tackles 2 sacks and game sealing int. 

Jets release K Kaare Vedvik and sign K Joey Slye.
