A wild offseason leads to week 1 Victory.

Your Chicago bears voiced their desire to find themselves a new leader under center this offseason after Bortles collapse led to a playoff defeat. No one knew if they would sit at 27 and draft a rookie or trade up to pick one. No one expected Dion Blackburn to hit FA and surely no one expected the bears to break the bank for a QB after settling for Bortles last season and left Trubisky walk the season before.  At what was their biggest weakness last season it’s an upgrade of seismic proportions.

Acquiring him in the 2nd week of FA led to minimal practice time before week 1. He looked a little confused at times but was surgical when needed. After the game he was praised Cohen for his gameplay and mentioned it’s easy being a QB when the defence fears a home run hitter like Cohen. Cohen broke up again for 174 yards and 2 tds, making multiple defenders miss on his 20+ yard scampers.

The defence, which was relied on heavily last year, faltered in the first half but after smith tore into everyone at half time. They are were a different beast in the 2nd half holding the Vikings to a FG.

Next week the buffalo bills head to Chicago, who looks to over come a tough loss last season to the bills. We expect Blackburn to show why he is the highest paid QB in the league during his 2nd game.
