Before you even touch gameplay or the basics of CFM there are issues that should be fixed with players that affects CFM.

1) Please, please, please fix player creation so that players don't automatically have 0 consistency and confidence when created. Also, you can't assign developments to players and can't give out possession catch, tight spiral or bull rush traits for some reason. It's annoying to people who edit rosters to fix missing players or update rosters later in the season that these issues exist.
2) Allow custom draft classes.
3) Fix the coin toss -- it is clearly broken and/or random if you ever get neither of your choices at kickoff (which happens quite often)

By far the biggest thing that needs to be added to CFM mode is commissioner roster control...and by the way, why was the franchise start week taken away? Now when you set up a league before everybody can join the CPU has already made a ton of roster moves. Let us advance to the preseason (or regular season) when we want not automatically when the franchise is created.

I would love for more details coaching and scouting staff in CFM along with other features like practice squads and restricted free agency, but I feel like that is just asking for too much at this point.

Force win should have levels so if a game disco at the end 24-17 or something its not a 75-0 blowout with 12 injuries

Defensive Assignments is a necessary and formation subs!! As a Commish of a fast pace league I think we need to have ability to reverse transactions to help avoid those horrible owners who drop rosters in an attempt to ruin leagues. Any thoughts?

i would like to see the actual overall rating and then scheme overall rating when you look at your roster. i hate when they say someone is like a 69 overall because of scheme when they are like a 95 regular. makes no sense to me. also hope the fix the regression glitches where your team losses a bunch of stats superbowl week no matter what
