Race to 2393?
Tyamonee Greer is out to prove he is the real “TG”. There is a lot of respect for Todd Gurley as he resurrected his career in Green Baby after he was left to dry rot in sunny southern California. However, the “TG” label now resides with the 2k King Greer. Let’s examine the numbers.
Greer was the 6th pick in the 1st round during the 2023 draft from Stanford. The former Cardinal great stat line from his three years include:
743 carries, 5150 yards, 37 TD, 6.5 ypc
In year 4, after 12 weeks, Greer has 238 carries, 2179 yards, 9.2 ypc, and 19 TDs.
Greer is 214 yards from eclipsing his rushing record. True greatness!!!
Greer has rushed for at least 100 yards in all 12 games this season. His season-low is 122 yards vs. the Rams in week 5. TG has run for more than 200 yards in 5 games this season:
- New England (203)
- Seattle (243)
- Houston (233)
- Buffalo (323)
Greer’s next 4 games:
Week 14- vs. Chargers; Greer rushed 161 yards on 19 carries in a Week 11 Raiders win. Chargers are currently 27th vs. the rush in the SML.
Week 15-vs Jets; The New York defense will enter a Top 10 defense and currently 8th vs. the rush.
Week 16- vs. 49ers- The Baby Area defense is currently the 4th worst rush defense in the SML, giving up 127.8 ypg.
Week17-vs. Chiefs- Chiefs rush defense currently in 9th vs. the run. In a week 8 matchup, Greer overwhelmed KC in Arrowhead running for 195 yards, 2 TD’s on 18 carries.
There are two questions:
1. When will Greer eclipse his rushing record?
2. Will he surpass 2500 yards?
