In Week 6, the Chiefs came into Minnesota hungry for a win. The Vikings were hungry as well after getting blown out by the Broncos in week 4 before their bye week. Coach Tizel worked his guys hard in their bye week. Knowing how imporant it was to get a win against a very well coached and talented team in the Chiefs.

It was a defensive battle from the start as both teams punted back and fourth for the entire first quarter. Then in the second quarter, HB Jamal Charles, willled his way for a touch down, even after being hit just past the line of scrimmage, he spins off the hit, and drags two more defenders to the endzone for a score , to go up 7-0. On the very next possesion on a 3rd down from their own 21 , Teddy Bridgewater makes a ill advised throw to the outside , only to be picked off by saftey Parker and ran in for a touchdown.Putting the Cheifs up 14-0 very quickly . As the quarter runs down the Vikings finally get a field goal before halftime to make it 14-3 .

In the second half the Vikings get the ball after halftime and end up just barely squeaking a 61 yard fg in , as it hit the bar on the goal post and bounced in. There was also a 11 mph wind to help it get there. Making it 14-6 . Then the Vikings Griffin nails QB Bray as he draws back to pass , and causes a fumble that gets returned by Floyd for a TD. The Vikings go for two and convert on an our pass to WR Johnson to make it 14-14. Both teams had a few possesions after this ending in punts. Then the Vikings get moving down field only for TE Kyle "Butterfingers" Rudolph to bobble a great pass to him, and was Gaines come in and snatch it up right before it touched the ground to end a good drive. The Chiefs drive down to the Vikings 25 and are faced with a 4th and 1 . They decide to go for it thinking they wanted a first down to help run off as much time as they could to put pressure on the Vikings. They run Charles up the middle who is met by Saftey Smith in the backfield for a yard loss and turn the ball over to the Vikings. Who then drive down the field, and on a critical 3rd and 9 , with 1 minute 30 seconds left , Bridgewater hits Johnson for a conversion while he gets nailed by 4 defenders and holds onto the catch. This allowed the Vikings to run out the clock and kick the FG for the win as time expired.

Coach Tizel said after the game " We are very lucky to come out today with the win. That Chiefs defense was so tough. We could not run on them for anything , and while they didnt have many sakcs, just ask Teddy how he feels in the morning. He was getting hit left and right all day as pressure was getting to him alot. Our defense stepped up and saved us,but we can't count on that every game, we just got lucky today. Our offense must do a much better job at moving the ball, keeping our defense off the field to get them some rest, and putting up more points. We still have a long season ahead of us ,hopefully we can work some of these things out this season . We will see where it takes us. That was a very tough opponent today , we got a win, but we have much more work ahead of us . Im not at all pleased with our offense at this point in time."
