Seahawks Defense Helps Pull Out A Win In Baltimore!

So in Sundays game , The Seahawks played the Ravens in Baltimore.  The Ravens had the 4th overall ranked offense, against the Seahawks 16th ranked D but 2nd against the pass which is where the Ravens are the strongest. The game started off bad for the Seahawks as Wislon threw an int on the first possesion and the Ravens capitolized on it , by scoring a TD set up by good field position. On the next possesion, Wilson repeats his issue and give the Ravens the ball on the Seahawks 35 yardline. They drove down and the Seahawks held them off from a 1st and goal from the 4 yard line, and forced a FG to go down 0 -10, but coulda easily been 0-14 . On the next possesion , they were forved to punt, as thing looked to be getting out of hand. However their defense stepped up and forced a punt themselves. With 3 minutes before the half , the Seahawks managed to get a TD on a 31 yard Michael's run to make it 7-10 and they were back in the game . After half time , the Ravens came out firing , and drove right down the field easily to score another TD on a mass to Steve Smith to go up 7-17 . The next possesion the Seahawks stalled out and had to punt, again things were swinging in the Ravens favor. With the ball on thier 30 yard line , Flacco drops back to pass on a second down play , and McPhee came in off the right end and nailed Flacco as he drew back to pass, and the ball flys up in the air , just as Wagner was coming around the left end , caught the ball in air , and took it to the house for a TD. Putting the Seahawks down 14-17 . Then the Seahawks got an Int on the next Ravens possesion , but ended up having to settle for a FG to make it 17-17 . They then held the ravens on the next possesion and forced a punt as things start swinging their way. They drive down the field , and stall out on the 37 and have to settle for anotehr FG, to go up 20-17 . With about 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Ravens march down the field again and score a TD to go up , 20-24 . Now the pressure was back on Seattle to match this , However they stall out and go 3 and out and have to punt . The Ravens , with the momentum on thier side, again march right down the field. With 2 minutes left in the game , on first and goal , they go for a run up the middle and get stuffed in the backfield for a loss of 2 . On the 9 yard line, on second down, Flacco drops back to pass, and Wagner reads Flaccos eyes perfectly, and knows right where the ball is going. As he just waits for his moment to strike , like a shark thats been hunting its prey as it prepares to launch its attack. Wagner sees Flacco start to throw and breaks on the WR Pattersons route ,and Ints the ball a yard deep in the endzone and runs it back for 101 yards to a Game Changing INT. This put them up 27-24 . So at a moment when they were down 4 , and facing a game ending TD that looked very imminent with the Ravens first and goal situation, after just marching down the field on the possesion before for a TD, this Seahawks defense, rose to the occassion and said  " not on our watch " ! This was a swing from going down 11 with under 2 minutes left to going up 3  in a matter of seconds . On the following drive, the Ravens got down to the 40 yardline , and then Flacco threw hi last Int of the game, that gave the Seahawks the win in an awesome battle , where the Seahawks started off bad, put themselves in a bad hole, but never gave up and came out victorious in the end. Coach Tee said after the game " Man, what a game huh? I have to vote for Wagner as the Defensive player of the week this week, two ints for tds, and the one there at the end that just turned everything around facing a huge deficet under 2 minutes , to putting us in the lead by 3 . Man i cant say enough about him and our defense. We have put ourselves in this tye of situation before this season, im glad to see our guys not give up and stick to the gameplan , and fight their way back into these games, however i cant lie, id like to see us just come out of the gate playing well from the 1st quarter to the last. I feel like we can compete with most other teams out there , if we could just do it for a full 4 quarters. However , im very glad we are already only 1 win away from tying last seasons record, as our goal this year was to improve upon that , and right now , we look to be able to do just that. Now we will be setting our new goal for the season at 8 wins at the least of , hopefully we can find ourselves going above and beyond that come the end of the season, but only time will tell. When we lost Sherman in the second quarter, our defense didnt give up , they just dug even deeper , and stepped up in big ways. We will miss him while he is out, but its just an opportunity for someone else to step in and step up in the line up. We face the Rams next week ,and we will need all the help and luck we can get! Right now its just take it one week at a time, but we know we can play better, so we are glad to be 4-2 at the moment, but its no where as good as we would like it to look. We have a ton of improving to do . Im proud of our team thus far for gettting behind in numerous games, but never just folding, always fighting ,believing , if we just keep fighting , we will get our opportunity to get back in the games, and we have so far. Hope that continues. Alot of people said , our guys had no confidence in each other , themselves or the coaches, and we wouldnt stand a chance to even compete this year after last seasons huge disappointment. Im glad we are able to disprove those nay- sayers ! " The Seahawks face their toughest opponent of the season next in the Rams who owned the West division last season and looks to be doing the same this year. They know they will have their hands full , but hope to give a good fight either way!
