After losing two straight close games, with the offense stalling with a chance to take the lead, the Falcons have bounced back nicely with a 3 game win streak. Coach Chetty has talked about how his team needed a boost after their two dissapointing losses, including one to the insufferable Coach Hem in which Chetty has been quoted as saying "Coach Hem is the Rex Ryan of MBC and that's all I'll say about that". But the team may have found it's spark ever since coming through in OT against the Vikings back in week 3. Since then, they have a 35-17 win over the Giants and their most recent triumph is a 38-14 win over the Bears.
The Falcons came out in there new 3-4 defensive front and everything seemed to click right from the beginning. With 2:47 left in the first quarter, Dezmen Southward jumped a Jay Cutler pass and returned it 40 yards for the score. From there, Julio Jones and Michael Ford added two touchdowns a piece to lead the Falcons offense. But the story of this game was the rookie safety who seems to have everything clicking. On top of the interception, Southward added 5 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and a pass deflection.
