Falcons Falter In Green Bay

by chetty12 | 10 years ago | 1 Comments

Led by the aerial assault of Aaron Rodgers to Jordy Nelson, the Green Bay Packers pulled off the win 37-16 over the Atlanta Falcons. It didn't take long for the Packers to get things started with two first quarter touchdowns, one by Jarrett Boykin through the air and the other by Micah Hyde off of a kickoff return. The Falcons were able to battle their way back into the game during the first half bringing the score to 17-9, but left too many points on the field with drives stalling in the red zone and turnovers. The second half is when Nelson took over the game with touchdowns of 59 and 72 yards. Coach Chetty Twelve said that his team needs to work on shutting down the pass game and that Desmond Trufant needs to improve going forward, if they are to have any chance in the loser's bracket. He also criticized himself for becoming one dimensional in his play calling after falling behind earlier. Will the Falcons be able to straighten out their play call issues and rebound after this beat down by Green Bay?

After the Falcons started gaining some momentum, Jordy Nelso came out of half time and made sure that the Pack shut the door on any hope they had at a come back. His 59 yard touchdown deflated the confidence of the Falcon secondary and helped lead his team to victory.
