Falcons Win Opening Tournament Game

The Falcons start out the MBC Tournament with a win over their rival, the Carolina Panthers. Sean Weatherspoon started the scoring early with a pick six in the first quarter that gave Atlanta a 7-0 lead. Led by Matt Ryan and a new found run game, the Falcons were able to pull ahead 23-10 going into the fourth quarter and that's when Ryan threw an interception to Charles Godfrey that could have turned the game. Godfrey streaked down the right sideline trying to pull the Panthers within one score, but Ryan hustled enough to slow down Godfrey until his teammates could stop the defensemen right outside the 10 yard line. Two plays later, Robert Alford came through with an interception of his own, stopping any hope Carolina still had for victory.
