A huge trade took place between the New York Jets and The Baltimore Ravens earlier this week. Sam Darnold drafted by the previous New York regime and Lamar Jackson drafted by the Ravens have switched teams. The news was shock to many around the league, but the two teams had been working on hammering out a deal since week 1. At a press conference shortly after the deal was finalized, Coach Medlock made the following statement: "This trade is 100% about scheme fit, both of the QB's involved are outstanding players with bright futures in this league." All signs lead to Lamar Jackson sliding into the starting spot in New York, where Sam Darnold now gets an opportunity to learn from SuperBowl Winning QB Joe Flacco. The two teams also swapped Defensive Ends with Willie Henry going to the Jets and former First Round Pick Leonard Williams coming over to Baltimore. The Jets also sent a third round selection in the coming draft to seal the deal. On paper both teams got stronger today, but as we all know the game isn't played on paper. The real impact of this trade will play out over the next couple of seasons.
