Coach , you got your 1st win as an NFL head coach. How does it feel?
It feels great. Anytime you get a ‘W” it’s a great feeling. And I am glad the first victory is out of the way and now I can just focus on just playing football.
Kareem Hunt had a career game with over 200 yards rushing and 4 touch downs. What do u think of his performance?
He was phenomenal. He was able to find holes all night, and even times where there weren’t much space he was able to bust thru for positive yards. It was a great show from the sidelines for sure
There wasn’t much of a passing game that was seen in this game. Was that by design?
No it wasn’t by design. It was dictated by the game. We were able to find holes and had success pounding the ball early on and we stuck with it. The passing game was just secondary to keep the defense honest.
Your defense was pretty good tonight, and few of the players especially Eric Berry and Chris Jones had a huge game. Can you elaborate on their performance?
Yeah I am pretty happy about our defense tonight, though we made some mistake and we need to improve. But its week1 and I am not worried. Yeah Eric had a huge game with 2 interceptions and he made several other key plays. Those interceptions were timely as well. We needed it to break their tempo. And Chris was phenomenal tonight. I mean, he put pressure on rivers all night and his 4 sacks were the result of that. The sack fumble and the recovery he made were tremendous as well. Forced turnovers will win you games, and tonight was an example of that.
You guys will be heading to Pittsburg for the week 2 matchup with the Steelers. What do you think of this match up?
Steelers are a great football team. They are extremely talented and well coached and I envision a really tough game. They play well at home and they can put up bunch of points in hurry. So this will be a huge test for our defense. But I am confident in our team and hopefully we can come out of there with a win.
