With a new coach in Detroit comes new changes that are continually being announced.
Coach Chetty Twelve has already put his roster on notice by essentially putting everyone on the trade block, but has now taking that a step further by announcing they will be changing their offensive and defensive scheme.
During an interview before meeting the with the team, Chetty stated they would be changing their offensive philosophy to a more power run quick passing scheme and that they would be changing from the 3-4 defense to a 4-3 defensive scheme.
“Honestly, we just don’t have the linebackers to play the 3-4. We don’t have pass rushers outside of Ansah and will have to be combing over the waiver wire and free agency for some help. We have some talent in our defensive room, but we need to aggressively be trying to get better to match up with the rest of the teams in our division”.
“As for the offense, too many times in the past this offense has been about Stafford chucking the ball around the yard putting up huge but inefficient numbers. This year our focus is going to be helping him with a run game and limiting the risk. I want to see a high completion percentage and the ball in our playmakers hands”.
