After 7 seasons of restructering the Vikings team under coach Tizel , they have finally cracked thru to make the playoffs, after a very hard fought and exciting game against the Lions , who's last coach retired with only 4 games left in the season. While the Vikings lead most of the game, it was never by more than 10 points, and the Lions took the lead by 4 points with 1:38 left in the game. The pressure was on qb Heath to try to get a drive together quickly and get in the endzone as a a fg would do nothing for them. He got them downto the 18 yard line with 18 seconds left. Then on the next play , he hit WR Bullit in the endzone for the go ahead touchdown with 11 seconds left to go in the game, to clinch their first ever playoff birth under Tizel.

"We didnt know how the tie breakers would work out, as we all know those picking winners of tie breakers often overlook things that should be used to determine you make it. We felt like this was a must win for us.We have not played very well the last half of the season, so it is good to pull out two close game wins in the last two weeks. To give our guys some confidence, as long as we can keep it close, we might have a shot to win a playoffgame maybe. Looks like we will probably be playing the Cowboys who we know wants to get their revenge for us beating them earlier in the year, so that will be a tough task for us to beat them twice in a year and with that chip on their shoulder as well. " - Coach Tizel said after the game.
