John Elway has been busy this offseason putting in new wallpaper in the QB room. Along with that he’s replaced all the people who worked in that room last year. OC Rich Scangarilo has been quoted as saying, “With each new season, it’s up to each one of these dudes to prove they aren’t a mook. I don’t want any Fredos on my team. Know what I’m saying?”
Can Joe Flacco, Drew Lock, or undrafted rookie Brett Rypien prove they have what it takes to survive in mile high? Or will they be sleeping with the fishes (traded to Miami).
As of this moment, former super bowl MVP Joe Flacco has the inside track to start. Rookie Drew Lock has shown some inconsistencies so far in training camp that haven’t seemed to have gotten any better. Flacco has made it known, he’s busy teaching himself the new offense. He doesn’t have time to string the rookie along like a lost puppy. “If he doesn’t understand it, that’s his problem. He’s his own man with his own job to do, just like me.”
Flacco later followed up by saying, “ I like the kid, I really do. After the season, we’ll hit the links. He says his short game is impeccable, which is funny because he can’t his a receiver from 5 feet away.”
Tough words coming out of this new look Denver QB room. Let’s see whose The Godfather and whose the mook.
