Baltimore Sun Ravens Week 5 (2020)

The Ravens entered week 5 with the faith of entering week 6 as a team over 500. For the past two weeks the Ravens have out performed their opponent as they lead in yards gained, passed, ran, first downs and more.  The only statics they didn’t out do their competitor were in turnovers and 3rd down conversions. The Ravens had one turnover where the wind or some unknown factor lead the ball completely away from the target in the end zone. While the Eagles had struggles as well turning the ball over 5 times in the air. The one thing they did not turnover was the score. Eagles were in control of this game to the last second on the score board with the final being 27-20.

Offensively we team is getting the balanced they’d like to with the run and the pass. Jackson line this game was 294 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 7 sacks and a completion ratio of 25/40.  Jackson threw for 62% on the day where the quarterback staff wants him to get closer to the 70’s range. The team wants to work on giving Jackson more plays that he feels comfortable with to ensure his success.

The running game is not bad by most standards for todays NFL, but the Ravens prefer to have the run game play a stronger role game to game. Highlight for this game of course was finally seeing something more than nothing from rookie Rafeal Roosevelt. He gave the team a good average this week with running 3 carries for 23 yards. Hopefully, this will continue to get better as the season carries on.

Defensively, I don’t think it can be said enough. The team is working to do its best without Pierce, but we can see how hes missed in the little things. His presence was needed greatly in the run game as the Eagles were able to literally run in the gap he would normally play. Nonetheless, the highlight for the defense was finally getting more turnovers. The team defense walked away with more than 5 INT on Wentz for the day. With this kind of output, you would think the team would have won, but this obviously wasn’t there day.
