Giants late comeback comes up short

by Lt4life | 5 years ago | 0 Comments

The Giants fall to 2-6 after a defeat to the Lions 45-31. The Giants defense struggled again, but the offense almost made up for it. Giants were down 31-16, at one point. The offense put up 15 unanswered points to tie the game. Lions with under 3 minutes left in the game converted a screen into a long TD. That screed TD proves to be the back breaker. The Lions added another long TD with about 30 secs left in the game to run up the score. Daniel Jones threw 5 INTs, as the passing game keeps struggling with turnovers. RB Barclay had 153 yds rushing, including a 100yd TD run, in the 4th quarter to spur the comeback. Playoffs hopes seem to be almost extinguished, unless by some miracle this team gets it together. But honestly both sides of the ball need to play better. The QB needs to make better reads, and the defense needs to allow 20 points or less. Up next is the 6-1 Cowboys, which will be a really tough test. The Cowboys could put the nail in the coffin on their playoff chances. It may be time to start looking to next season, but even if the Giants are out of the playoffs, they don’t plan on rolling over.
