Arizona Cardinals Offense review

by xthecloudx | 7 years ago | 0 Comments

Here is the review of the offense of arizona cardinals team going into 2021 season. Lets just hop right on into this.

QBs

1. Josh Edmonds

Josh game on the scene in 2017 from memphis. Drafted in the 3rd round pick number 26 by the cardinals at the age of 21. He mostly sat the bench his first year in the league, due to Palmer still being the starter then. Arizona cut ties with Palmer and decied that it was time for what Edmonds was brought in to do, win games. His first year(2018) starting he threw for 4120 yards, 35 TD and 12 INT. Ever since is then arizona has not looked back and will continue to start Edmonds. With having thrown for 12,502 yards, 110TDs, 63INT, Passer raiting 108.1, 3 pro bowls, 2019 best QB and 1 Super Bowl win over the course of 4 years. Edmonds is looking for the Hall of Fame.

RBs

1. DeSean Benford

DeSean was drafted in the 2017 Draft, but never played a snap till 2019 when Arizona signed him to a one year contract to see what he could do. He was good fit, as he is more of a scat back, in Arizona's pass heavy year in 2019. Rushed for 773 yards and 6 TDs and Received 268 yards and a TD. But Arizona went to a west coast scheme the next year and wanted to beef up running the ball and they knew that he couldn't handle a full workload, but he has been an amazing change of pace back when they brought in Derrick Henry.

2. Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry was released from the Titans in 2019 was set out to be a FA and arizona won the contract on him over multiple bids on him. He came on strong in his 5th year, first year with Arizona, and ran for 1534 years and 20 TDs. He was the MVP for the Cardinals that year as he ran though everyone that went up agianst him and won them multiple games for them in clutch moments. Henry will of course be the starter next year and is looking to do even better than last year.

WRs

1. J.J. Nelson

JJ has been a constant deep threat for Arizona as he ran 4.28 40. He really makes team back off because they knew that he would burn anyone deep that was on him. JJ has been consistent through the years, but his 2018 season was the best. Putting up 77 catches for 1571 yards and 12TD. But father time is catching up with him and he isn't the burn he once was a few years ago. I hear arizona is looking for a new #2 receiver with his age getting to him and Max Lobato taking away a lot of opportunities away from him.

2. Max Lobato

Everyone has heard of Lobato since the 2019 season. He has easily become a to 5 WR in the last 2 years. He has become a fan favorite since his first year in. His story is what makes this even better. Lobato came from Villanova at the age of 21 and went undrafted in 2016. The vikings picked him as a UDFA and didnt do much them. 5 catches for 83 yards and 2 TDs and then was released after the 2018 season. Arizona picked him week 3 of the 2019 season when Floyd had dislocated his ankle in week 2. Lobato took Floyd's spot as the number WR for Arizona. Local Radio host Connor Rice said this was bad move, trading floyd away and keeping Lobato over him. Lobato didn't want to hear it and went off and finished that year with 91 catches 1436 yards and 21 TDs. Was the NFC best WR of the 2019 season and made the pro bowl. In his 2 years in Arizona he has 160 catches for 2,614 yards and 35 TDs. Making 2 pro bowls, 2019 best WR and a Super Bowl Win. He's looking to do even more in the years coming at the age of 25.

3. Ryan Frey

Ryan went undrafted in 2018 from Tennessee, even though he ran a 4.27 40 time. His small frame kept people. But Arizona gave him a shot as a UDFA and has been playing slot WR and PR/KR with his blazing speed. He as 91 catches for 1,341 and 9 TDs as a WR. KR he has 26 returns for 715 yards 1 TD. PR he has 40 return for 759 yards and 1 TD.

TEs

1. Bruce Gilliam

Gilliam had walked from the cowboys in 2020 and had set out to be a FA. Arizona needed a superstat at TE and they think they got their man. We will see this season if he preforms well. Gilliam was drafted 2nd round pick 20 for the cowboys in 2016. He went to Arizona and came in the league at 22. As a native Arizona person he is happy to be playing for the team he always wanted to play for since he has been growing up..

2. Blake Sparks

Blake was drafted in the 3rd round pick 16 by Arizona in 2019. He was never a number 1 TE, but he did his best and did a very good job. But with the addittion of Gilliam he should be an excellent number 2 TE.

LTs

1. Brandon Light

Light was drafted as Arizona first round pick in 2018. 21 years old from clemson. He has been a great addition to the line with only allowing 7 sacks in 32 games. He made the pro bowl his 2nd year and looks for many more ahead.

LGs

1. Clay Taylor

Taylor was taken in the 2nd round by Arizona in 2019 as he just finished his rookie year this year. Taylor had a pretty good year. Not the best pass blocker, but is improving as the year went on is looking to be better this year.

Cs

1. Zack Sheets

Sheets had a great year as a rookie. Drafted in the 2nd round with Taylor in 2019. Sheets allowed 4 sacks on the year and is an great run blocker who just turned 22. He still has a lot of room to improve and will contuine to do so.

RGs

1. Jesus McMichael

Jesus was drafted in the 1st round of the 2018 season and played very well his rookie year and has made the pro bowl 3 times in his 4 years in the league. Hes looking to be one of the best RGs in the league right now, allowing 10 sacks in 48 games, and he is only 25.

RTs

1. D.J Humphries

DJ was drafted in 2014 and has barely a started in 2016, but now he is a superstar RT with making 4 pro bowls and 2020 best OL. DJ is 27 and has a few more years before he hangs it up. Hes allowed 16 sacks in 80 games.
