The Patriots and The Steelers showed up and played football to the very end of their game last night. The Patriots barely skated away with a 13-12 victory over the very successful Steelers.
Offensively, Tom Brady wasn't on top of his game, 19/34 with 241 passing yards, 2 TDs, and 5 INTs. LeGarette Blount was held to 19 yards off of 7 attempts by the Steel Curtain defense. Rob Gronkowski had a receiving TD, and had 5 receptions for 68 yards. Quite the day for Gronk. Julian Edelman was targeted only twice, and had 27 yards all game. Unusual for Brady to leave Edelman out of the loop for targets. Tom Brady was in favor of hitting Gronkowski all game.
For the Steelers offensively, Big Ben Roethlisberger went 24/26, with 3 INTs of his own. he finished with 261 yards total, His main man for targets was Antonio Brown, but Big Ben couldn't get anything working, and the run game wasn't there for the Steelers either.
Defensively, the Patriots man of action was Elandon Roberts, who came away with 2 of Big Bens 3 INTs, a true key player for the Pats.
For the Steelers defensively, William Gay came away with 2 of the 5 INTs for the Steelers defense, Ryan Shazier, Mike Mitchell, and Artie Burns also had 1 of their own.
The Patriots came away with a W. New England fans around the country rejoice as the Pats win yet, another AFC title. On top of that, Tom Brady wins offensive player of the week, a title that is definitely deserved for his willingness to pull through a sloppy game.
