Bears Win in Wildcard OT Thriller

The Bears started off shaky, quickly falling to a 0-17 deficit. Coach Alex  Brown calmed the team down and told them that they could still get the job done. The defense stepped up and the anemic offense finally came to life. The Bears were able to get on the score board before half with a field goal and went into the locker room at 3-17.

The Bears received the second half kickoff with a fire lit under them. They drove down the field and punched it in with Tarik Cohen from three yard out. The Saints marched right back down and kicked a FG to make it 20-10 at the start of the 4th quarter.

Down by 10, Mitch Trubisky led the Bears down the field and hit Cam Meredith for a 30 yard touchdown to come within a single possession for the first time in the game.

The Saints once again drove down to the Bears red zone but the defense made a play at the perfect time. With a little over two minutes to go, Leonard Floyd strip-sacked Brees and Freeman Recovered. The momentum was all Chicago's now. Trubisky led his team down to the goalline to kick the game-tying field goal to send the game to OT.

New Orleans won the toss and elected to receive. On the third play of the drive, Brees threw to a covered man and CB Prince Amukamara was in perfect position to make a play. Amukamare intercepted it and gave the Bears a chance to put the game away. On the Bears first offensive play of the overtime period, they ran a toss play to Tarik Cohen...It was the perfect play call. Cohen scampered untouched for the 53 yard game-winning TD. The Bears completed the 17 point comeback on the road in New Orleans for their first playoff win since 2010.

The Bears advance to the Divisional Round where they will play the #1 Seed Minnesota Vikings in Minnesota. Coach Brown looks to avenge his two losses against the Vikings.
